Peacekeeping in Sudan

Austin Bay cites a report from Stragegy Page indicating that the UN Security Council has voted to send a multinational peacekeeping team to enforce the South Sudan peace agreement (this is distinct from the ongoing Darfur violence). The UN invoked Chapter 7 of its charter, a more robust mandate than Chapter 6 and the same clause that was cited in 1990 in demanding that Saddam withdraw from Kuwait.
