Keith Ablow: Marriage Dead Without Government Blessing
Marriage died in 2013 | Fox News Well, of course: Because government has no legitimate role in marriage, marriage therefore no longer exists. Keith Ablow perfectly sums up the big-government view of marriage. In a great cri-de-coeur of anguish and despair, he resigns himself to a future where 'People who wish to create special partnerships of the heart and home ... sign prenuptial contracts with one another and then exchange vows at their churches or temples or in front of gatherings of family or special friends.' All is left to the incompetent fumblings of individual citizens and their faith communities, bereft of the sacralizing power of the all-benevolent State. For statists, a tragedy indeed.
