- Freedom activists issue petition. (SMCCDI) Iranian activists issued a petition calling for regime change in the Islamic Republic.
- Bush imposes Syria sanctions. (various) Belmont Club notes the “extraordinarily accusatory” tone of the Executive Order, saying that it indicates “the US is not willing to confront Damascus militarily – yet.” Oubai at FAF calls it “not an end in itself, but a means-- a first step in bringing about the end of the Syrian Baath Regime” and counsels Assad to start thinking about a long vacation in France.
